My Process
My sculptures begin with the search for forgotten or discarded steel. I collect metal from scrap and junk yards, or just things left on the side of the road. I look for pieces with character, color, texture. After studying the form and movement of the subject I want to create, I sketch ideas and select metal that seems to naturally fit the design. Each piece is then cut, cleaned, shaped, and welded together, transforming scrap into a new work of art. Through this process, weathered industrial materials are given a second life, becoming sculptures that celebrate both craftsmanship and reinvention.
All is done with the support of my family, friends and the community of Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
